COMMUNITY CALENDAR Thur. Jan 10 Pensacola Pelicans Training Academy 2008 Spring All-Pro Baseball Academy “Preseason Tune-Up”. Pelicans Training Academy, 4920 N Davis Highway. “Preseason Tune-Up” is an opportunity for an athlete to receive professional instruction and prepare for the upcoming baseball season. The goal is to teach baseball fundamentals that can be used from youth leagues to major leagues. Two sessions, 1. grades 3 – 5 and 2. grades 6 – 8. Both sessions will meet every Monday and Thursday. The League of Women Voters of the Pensacola Bay Area will hold a special public program on the Ad Valorem Taxation Amendment vote of Jan. 29, 2008. 6:00 pm, PJC Milton Campus, Bldg 4200 (the Student Center). Greg Brown, Santa Rosa Property Appraiser, will explain the referendum: Assessments, Exemptions, Limitations, and Homesteads. Carolann Holmes, League President will explain the pro/con of the amendment. Information: Tue. Jan.15 The American Business Women’s Association will hold its January chapter meeting at Landry’s Seafood House (905 E. Gregory St.). Presentation by Larry Strain will focus on things every business person can resolve to do that will re-energize or re-focus their business and will include ways the UWF Small Business Development Center can assist. 5:30 - 8pm. 5:30 pm and will conclude at 8 pm on $15/person and will include dinner and drinks.
